It wasn't quite a beach day, but I wish it had been. There was no supply work so I spent the morning working on my interview preparation and feeling stressed. As the day was beautiful and the wind low; I decided to go out for a mid-day swim. Glorious. Seriously. There were people playing music on the beach and I met a new friend who found it too cold without a wet suit.
I was wearing a wet suit but at first, the water was pretty cold. I got used to it and eventually, I got this wonderful feeling that I just didn't want to leave the sea. I start to wonder if I am part selkie. I after all feel the call of the sea and I am part Cornish. On my maternal grandfather's side, there is a line of sailors. Anything is possible.
I forced myself out of the sea, got changed and went back out to do my laundry and see my friend the historian. I was so relaxed when I spoke to him. I had forgotten sea swimming can make someone well...sleepy. I had to rest when I got home.
Now I am listening to Sea Magic Ambience. It is making me wish I was back out there. On the first day of my sailing trip, I wanted to go back to sailing. I guess sometimes we can get a bit waylaid by seasickness and normal life and instability. But the sea has a way of calling me back. I just have to listen to the track 'In the Splendor of the Moon,' and I am there again.
